The Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office has identified a woman found dead in a south Reno field as a woman who had been

The body of 36-year-old Kelly Trethan was found December 7, 2018, the day after a Washoe County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team was asked by police to search a field in the area of Double Diamond and Terabyte. That was after, police say, other efforts to find her had been exhausted.

Police say Trethan had voluntarily walked from her south Reno home November 16, between 10 and 11PM. They say before that, she was said to be misusing her prescribed medication and was experiencing hallucinations and extreme paranoia.

Police say she was seen by several people soon after in the area of Terabyte and Double Diamond Parkway, saying she was only wearing a thin long-sleeved t-shirt and yoga pants, and was barefoot. Video surveillance footage confirms she was not wearing appropriate clothing for cold weather, according to police.

Police say witnesses told them Trethan appeared to be altered and possibly under the influence, as she was unable to answer basic questions. She ran from the area when a witness suggested Reno Police should be called.

Police posted information about her disappearance on Facebook, and say they issued "Attempt to Locate" flyers to hospitals, businesses and law enforcement agencies within Nevada and California.

No cause of death has been determined, but police say the death doesn't appear to be suspicious, with no evidence of foul play.
