Name released of woman found dead in burning truck

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office and Truckee Meadows Fire continue to investigate a fire that led to the discovery of a body Tuesday morning.
Sheriff's spokesman Bob Harmon tells KOLO 8 News Now the fire that engulfed a small pickup was reported about 7:30AM March 20, 2018 along American Flat Road, about a mile from Red Rock Road. When the fire was extinguished, the body was found in the truck.
The Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the woman as 51-year-old Christine Townsend of Reno. Her cause of death has not been determined; nor has the cause of the fire.
Townsend was last reported seen March 20 in the area of G Street in Sparks during the early morning hours. Her truck was a Gray 2004 Toyota pickup.
Investigators would like to hear from anyone who may have seen Townsend and/or her truck between the hours of 1AM and 7AM March 20. Anyone with information is asked to call the Washoe County Sheriff's Office Detective Division at (775) 328-3320 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
