RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Biggest Little Dog Park is having its ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11 a.m.

The City of Reno contributed $75,000 toward Phase 1 of the project, which went toward the construction of the dog park. The Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation and the Coalition have worked together to raise more than $100,000, but donations are still needed to cover the park’s Phase 2 construction costs.

With the opening of the park, construction of Phase 1 of the project is complete, and fundraising for Phase 2 is officially underway. Phase 2 could include installation of wind screens, benches, dog agility features and other upgrades to improve the overall experience in the park for both dogs and their owners. A larger grand opening is planned to celebrate the future completion of Phase 2.

Community members have two options to donate toward the Biggest Little Dog Park:

1. Direct donations.
2. Purchasing spots for their pets on the Biggest Little Dog Park pet mural, painted by Pawtraits by Hannah Eberle and located adjacent to the dog park on the ReTRAC.

Mural prices are $200 per pet or $150 per pet for multiple pet paintings.
