Early morning workouts may help you beat the heat

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - With temperatures reaching triple digits, staying active can be hard. Many people choose to work out early in the morning, when temperatures are mild.

“The younger generation might call it boring; we call that life,” says Jack Ward.

To protect yourself from the sun, the Centers for Disease Control recommends the use of sunscreen, sunglasses, lots of water and light-colored clothing.

"Whether you have a black shirt on, sometimes staying cool just means getting in the right state of mind. You got to remain happy, and being happy is hard if you’re not somewhat healthy,” says Ward.
