RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - No one was hurt in a fire that destroyed the basement of a boarded-up triplex Friday morning.

The fire on E. 2nd Street was reported at 9:16 a.m. February 15, 2019. Firefighters say it started in the basement and traveled to the first floor in some areas.

The building had already had at least one fire and was red-tagged by the City of Reno Code Enforcement Department as illegal to occupy. But firefighters say squatters had broken in and set up camp.

No cause has been determined. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact the Reno Fire Department Prevention Bureau at 775-334-2300.
