Barracuda Championship is working to stay in the Reno area

There are no firm plans yet, but the Barracuda Championship is trying to find a new home in the Reno area.

That was the message delivered Wednesday, August 22, 2019, to the Reno Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority board meeting.

Barracuda Executive Director Chris Hoff told the RSCVA they are working to find a replacement course to host the tournament after the decision by Montreux Golf & Country Club to end their relationship.

Hoff says it's rare for a tournament to be in any area for such a long time. The inaugural Barracuda Championship was held in Reno in 1999.
