RENO, Nev. (KOLO)-- 2:09 p.m. update:The Reno Fire Department reports the teen has been reunited with his family.
Authorities are asking for the public’s help to find the family of a teenager, apparently autistic, found Saturday in Reno.
Reno Animal Control was responding to a call in the area of Keystone and Alturas avenues at about 11:15 a.m. and the juvenile, estimated to be 14 to 15 years old, began growling at the vehicle, the Reno Police Department said.
He is described as being non-verbal. His family could not be found. There is a group home in the area but police said he did not walk away from there.
The Reno Fire Department tweeted out his photo with a request that anyone who knows his identity or his family to call 775-334-COPS.
