RENO, Nev. (KOLO)-- Federal and local officials arrested a 50-year-old man Thursday in Reno on charges of receiving child pornography and possession of child pornography.

Joseph George Terrone, Jr. fled the initial attempt to arrest him, the U.S. Marshals Service said. Eventually the Marshals service and the Washoe County Internet Crimes Against Children task force found him.

U.S. District Court in Reno issued an arrest warrant for Terrone on Dec. 12. Investigators got the warrant after using a warrant to search his computer.

“Through the collaborative efforts of local and federal law enforcement agencies, we were successfully able to track down this deviant, child exploitation predator and bring him to justice,” Francisco Burrola, special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations in Nevada, said in a statement. “This multi-agency effort epitomizes our ongoing mission here in Nevada and is a testament to the men and women who work these cases.”

HSI encourages the public to report suspected child predators and any suspicious activity through its toll-free tip line at 1-866-DHS-2-ICE.
