RENO, Nev. (KOLO)-- The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested a fugitive wanted by the Sacramento Police Department in southeast Reno.

Samuel Dante Tarver, 39, remains in custody at the Washoe County jail Thursday in Reno on the federal fugitive warrant pending extradition to Sacramento.

Tarver is charged in the Sacramento area with home invasion using a firearm while people were at home, the service says.

Tarver was arrested in the area of Neil Road and Model Way. The service says Tarver has a history of violence dating to 1997.

The Repeat Offender Program assisted in the arrest.

“This is yet another example of how our joint agency efforts are apprehending violent fugitives who think they can hide in the Washoe County community,” says U.S. Marshal Gary Schofield said in a statement.
