A local jewelry store needs your help in identifying two people in an attempted break-in.

The incident happened early Sunday morning at Precision Diamonds.

Security footage shows two masked people wearing hoodies and carrying bins.

The pair tried to break in using tools and their backs to smash the window in.

Head jeweler Moises Salinas said they were notified of the break-in when an alarm came in on their phone.

"It was very heart wrenching because this is our livelihood so we came in and realized it was two gentlemen that came in wearing masks, wearing hoodies that tried to break in," said Salinas. "Thank God nothing happened. Nothing came through because of our prevention, our glass film and so we're very happy about that."

While there is damage to the window, Salinas said the situation could have been worse.

"Thank God again with the nice security film that goes over the window and double tempered glass," added Salinas. "They came in thinking they can strong arm and that didn't happen. The prevention saved us hundreds of thousands of dollars because stuff like this can actually close our business down."

Salinas is asking for anyone to come forward if they have any information. You can also call Secret Witness at 775- 322-4900.

"We want to show everybody that even though this happened to us, it's not going to stop us," explained Salinas. "We're going to be strong and we're going to do this for Reno. We're going to make sure Christmas is about holidays again and not for this type of stuff to happen."
