Suspect arrested for Traner Pool vandalism

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Reno Police say a suspect has been arrested in a case of extreme vandalism at Traner Pool, which reopened this week after being closed last summer because of the vandalism.

In March 2017, police responded to the pool at 1600 Carville Drive in north Reno on the report of a destruction of property that had caused thousands of dollars in damage.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives reviewed security surveillance and received numerous tips that identified the primary suspect as 40-year-old Gonzolo Escobar.

About 1:40PM June 13, 2018, Reno Police detectives found Escobar in the area of Peckham and Nutmeg, and arrested him. He is charged with the Traner pool burglary and destruction of property.
