LOS ANGELES (AP) - Tens of thousands of people opposed to abortion have gathered in Los Angeles for the fourth annual OneLife LA rally.
Saturday's event included a march from historic Olvera Street to a Chinatown park, musical performances and speakers urging people to respect the sanctity of life beginning with conception.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department tells City News Service about 35,000 people attended the rally.
Many marchers carried "Choose Life" signs in English and Spanish.
The crowd heard from actress Patricia Heaton and Jose Gomez, archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Gomez told the crowd that OneLife LA is "a vision for a pro-life nation" where "every life is sacred and protected."
