2015 KOLOCares Pillars Partners Announced

By  |

Six northern Nevada non-profit organizations were selected as Pillar Partners of KOLO-TV’s community-enriching KOLOCares initiative. KOLO-TV will work with each partner throughout 2015 providing on-air and online promotional support for their fundraising events and help to inform Northern Nevada residents of these worthwhile organizations’ mission to benefit the community. “Our goal is to expand the popular KOLOCares brand to help showcase community organizations seeking to advance their missions, showcase their events, and increase local fundraising,” says Matt Eldredge, KOLO-TV’s general manager.

The following organizations were selected as KOLOCares Pillars Partners for the 2015 calendar year:
Arts for All Nevada (formerly VSA Nevada)
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada
Join Together Northern Nevada
Seniors in Service
The Reno Initiative for Shelter and Equality
Think Kindness

All non-profit organizations in northern Nevada can benefit from KOLOCares in one way or another, these include posting on the KOLOCares Community Calendar, being featured on the KOLOCares Community Spotlight, promotion through social media – KOLO-TV and KOLOCares Facebook and Twitter and possible on-air fundraising event coverage.

The KOLOCares Pillar partners will receive expanded promotion via KOLO-TV’s on air and online resources. The six organizations chosen were selected from a large pool of 83 local non-profits through a grant-like process. “We were overwhelmed by the extreme number of quality applications,” says Eldredge. “It made our review process very difficult, as we wanted to select all of them. This process reinforced our belief in all of the great work that is being done by non-profit organizations in our area. ”

Any non-profit organization in the northern Nevada area is welcome and encouraged to utilize the KOLOCares resources to help promote their organization, inform the viewing public and submit information on their charity at www.kolocares.com
