LOVELOCK, Nev. (KOLO) - NHP is searching for a wrong-way driver who caused a crash on I-80 west of Lovelock that left one person in critical condition.
The crash happened at 9:16 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says the wrong-way driver was traveling east in the westbound lanes of I-80 about 18 miles west of Lovelock. The driver of a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, traveling westbound in the westbound lanes, steered to avoid the wrong-way driver and overturned.
The passenger of the Jeep was not wearing a seatbelt, and was thrown from the vehicle and flown to a hospital via CareFlight in critical condition. The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries.
Investigators say the wrong-way driver continued driving eastbound in the westbound lanes. They are looking for a white or gold colored heavy-duty Ford truck, possibly an F-250 or F-350.
