RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - For the first time ever, Interbike Marketweek is being held in Northern Nevada. The event is the largest bicycle industry trade show in North America and is full of innovative cycling gear and gadgets.

"They have some really cool new bike locks,” says Bonnie Bradbury, the owner of High Sierra Cycling. “Pinhead is putting out a new product, also some new folding bikes that are cool to look at.”

One vendor unveiled a re-engineered cycling roller that creates more stability, even for first time roller cyclists like KOLO 8’s Gianna Giorgi.

There are about 500 vendors showing at the event and each one of them is giving attendees a look into the future of the cycling industry.

“I think that a bicycle,” says Reid Sigety, Panasonic Electric Bike rep. “Our old friend is going to become something more important to use than maybe we ever imagined.”

Interbike Marketweek brings an estimated economic impact of $20 million, according to the RSCVA. Interbike representatives say they have committed to bringing the event back for the next four years.
