WALKER, Calif. (KOLO) - The Boot Fire has burned about 6,974 acres in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Containment is 100 percent as of Saturday morning.
Smoke may be visible for several days but is of no danger, the Forest Service said.
U.S. 395 and California 108 have reopened after being closed because of the fire.
All evacuations have been lifted and the Marines have returned to the Mountain Warfare Training Center.
The fire was reported about 2:30PM September 4, 2018 south of Walker and north of Sonora Junction. There is no word on a cause.
