RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The 19th Annual Pinocchio’s Moms on the Run will be held Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12 at Reno High School’s Foster Field. Activities will begin at 7 a.m., with a race warm-up, a continental breakfast, and opening ceremonies.
Races begin at 9 a.m. and will kick off with the 10K and 5K Runs, followed by the 5K Walk ‘n’ Talk. Races are open to men and women of all ages.
The popular Bon Bon Stroll will begin after the races are completed, followed by the Kidlets Race for kids under 10 years old.
Packet Pick-Up will be held Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Foster Field parking lot at Reno High School. There will be a variety of kids' activities including a bounce house and face painting.
“Moms on the Run has become a Mother’s Day tradition for so many families,” says Founder JP Pinocchio. “More than 5,000 participants turn up each year, allowing our organization to give back to our community with over $500,000 each year in assistance.”
The entry fee for adults is $45 and the fee for the Kidlets Race is $15. Late registration will begin May 9 and will be available at Packet Pick-Up and on the day of the event for $50.
Additional parking will be available at Reno High School. Parking attendants will direct vehicles before the race and this will allow participants to leave the parking area quickly without interference from the race.
Pinocchio’s Moms on the Run is a non-profit organization raising funds to assist northern Nevada women with everyday living expenses to help offset medical expenses incurred while in treatment for breast & gynecological cancers.
