The Road Ahead with RTC: Sun Valley Blvd. Project Virtual Presentation
The RTC invites the community to learn more about the Sun Valley Boulevard Transportation Improvement Project by viewing a virtual video presentation online at
. This online presentation will be in place of a physical meeting to comply with Governor Sisolak’s Emergency Directive 006 on public meetings.
Beginning on April 8 on the project website, the community will be able to watch a brief video presentation and provide comments through a submission form online. The community will be able to view the presentation and submit comments through May 1, 2020.
The project will increase safety in the area and benefit drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists and transit users. The RTC is nearly done with the design phase of the project and expects to begin construction on phase one of the project in June 2020. Phase one of the project includes improvements on Sun Valley Boulevard from 7th Avenue to Highland Ranch Parkway, including:
• Safety improvements
• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements
• New sidewalks and bike lanes
• Drainage improvements
• New pavement
• An upgraded traffic signal at Sun Valley Boulevard/7th Street and a reconfiguration of the intersection to improve safety
• Aesthetic improvements
The Sun Valley Blvd. Project was developed following the Sun Valley Blvd. Corridor Study in 2015, which focused on the area from Clear Acre Lane to Highland Ranch Parkway.
Phase one of this project represents an approximate $8-million investment in our community funded with local fuel-tax revenue.
