Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission preparing for Thanksgiving meal

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission (RSGM) is preparing to host its annual Thanksgiving Dinner and coat giveaway.

The event takes place Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, at 4 PM at 355 Record Street in Reno.

More than 50 volunteers will be on hand to prepare and serve 100 turkeys, 800 pounds of potatoes, 500 pounds of stuffing, 500 pounds of vegetables, 8 gallons of gravy and 600 pieces of pie.

Last year, the RSGM served 850 meals on Thanksgiving.

In addition to the feast, the RSGM will give away winter coats, along with hats, gloves and socks, and personal hygiene items.
