RAVE helps families with special needs

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - December 26:

Northern Nevada RAVE Family Foundation offers respite options for family members caring for young children and adult family members with special needs. It also trains high school volunteers to help care for people who need help.

"RAVE" stands for respite and volunteer experiences.

Director of Programs Betsy Aguiar tells us demand for services is growing and RAVE needs help from the community.

"We are able to serve about 200 children over 140 families, and there's 10,000 families that qualify for services. We have so much room to grow and the only way we can do that is by expanding our budget and getting more kids through our doors."

In addition to monetary donations, RAVE accepts supplies such as construction paper, puzzles, and board games.
