RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -- Have you ever wanted to get behind the controls of a bulldozer or maybe even an excavator? Now is your chance.

Construction crews are teaming up to share their heavy equipment for you to drive and control.

The event is called The Big Dig and it's a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

It's going to last the majority of the day Saturday, June, 1 2019.

"How many times do you get to go run a big D9 Caterpillar dozer? You don't and you're with your dad or your mom. Inside the cab running a dozer," said Big Dig Cancer Society Chairman of the Board, Jared Hosefros.

Tickets are $100 each, that gets a parent and young child in. They will go to six or seven stations to operate the heavy equipment. The ticket also includes lunch.

A ticket for grandparents is $20 each. The goal is to raise $100,000 for kids with cancer.
