RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Nevada, a non-profit that provides lodging for families with hospitalized children, is seeking teams to join its 34th Annual RMHC Golf Tournament Friday, May 31, 2019, at Red Hawk Golf and Resort. By filling both the Hills and Lakes courses, the charity aims to reach funding objectives for its various programs.

As the house displays the success of 32 years of keeping families close, the 34th Annual RMHC Golf Tournament enjoys its place as the non-profit’s oldest fundraiser, critical in raising the funds needed to build the 12-bedroom home in the first place. All funds raised will help to support local families served by RMHC® Northern Nevada.

The tournament starts at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start, scramble format. Players will enjoy coffee and breakfast foods and refreshments, and have the chance to participate in games on the Hills and Lakes courses. At the conclusion, players will have lunch followed by a brief awards ceremony. Attendees can purchase raffle tickets and bid on silent auction items. Teams of eight begin at $5,000, foursomes begin at $1,250, and individual players can register for $325.

“Our golf tournament has been such a big part of our history and success over the past thirty years. The funds raised go directly to the families we serve right here in Northern Nevada and help to keep families close during their child’s time of need,” said Laurie Gorris, Executive Director of RMHC® Northern Nevada. “Red Hawk has two incredible courses, and help to provide a really enjoyable experience for the players-fun is definitely part of the tournament’s success!”
