Heroes Remembered Blood Drive

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Wednesday marks the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The community can honor those who died by donating blood during the Heroes Remembered Blood Drive. The annual drive celebrates the spirit of generosity seen in the days following September 11, 2001 when Americans across the country rushed to local blood centers to help those in need.

The drive is happening from 10AM to 5:30PM Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Atlantis Casino Resort & Spa.

Volunteer blood donors must be at lest 16 years old with a signed United Blood Services parental consent from, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health. Additional height/ weight requirements apply to donors 22 and younger.

Appointments are recommended and can be scheduled here or by calling 775-329-6451. Donors must bring a photo ID. Walk-ins are welcome.
