RENO, NV. (KOLO) Boxers and Buddies is looking to find a home for an 18-month old doberman mix named Rueben.
"It's pretty obvious that he'd been outside his entire life," said Boxers and Buddies foster coordinator Jodi Horner.
Rueben was rescued by a couple down in Walnut Grove, California, who discovered him after he was abandoned in a field by his previous owners.
"They just left him out there to die," added Horner.
He's really come out of his shell over the last few months, and is going to doggie daycare to help him get more comfortable with different people and surroundings.
"He has come leaps and bounds," admitted Horner. "He's a dream on a leash. He doesn't pull unless he gets spooked. Other than that he's dog friendly. Super dog friendly."
Rueben has got all of his shots and is ideal for a family that doesn't have young children but does have another dog in their house, even if it's a more dominant dog.
