Church food pantry benefits from ornament fundraiser Thursday

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Reno artist Ray Herschleb will host his 8th Annual Studio Open House, Thursday, December 13, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

My Studio X is at 390 Freeport Way, Suite 14 in Sparks. Herschleb will feature his one-of-a-kind handmade ornaments and is giving a portion of the proceeds from ornament sales to Rehoboth Holy Temple Heavenly Pantry Food Services.

Rehoboth Holy Temple Church of God in Christ (RHTCOGIC) is a 501 © 3 not-for-profit entity that sponsors various feeding programs for anyone in need through Heavenly Pantry Food Services in Reno. The church assists in supplying clothing and household furnishings, helps the indigent or stranded get to their destinations and works prison ministry giving hope to those behind bars for their release back into society.

Herschleb is a multi-media artist who incorporates salvaged items in his work. His style of art highlights the use of negative space among the paint, glass, metal, paper or whatever item or medium speaks to him at the time. His use of light and space has developed over many years, most recently incorporating mirrors creating three dimensional “Infinite Spaces” enticing the viewer to get a closer look. A regular at the Midtown Art Walk, Art Town and the Nada-Dada Art show in Reno, Herschleb’s work has also been featured in numerous art shows in Lake Tahoe, San Francisco and Longmont, Colorado.
