Nevada Humane Society has pets to adopt

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - December 24:

The mission of the Nevada Humane Society animal shelter is to find homes and provide care for homeless pets in Washoe County and Carson City.

Since the organization opened 10 years ago, it's saved more than 90,000 animals.

Communications Director Kimberly Wade says if you can't adopt, there's another way you can help out.

"We have volunteers here in the shelter; they do everything from write thank-you notes, answer phones, help with adoptions, help in the vet clinic; everyone has a different skill set. If it's something where you want to work with the animals, this is a great organization to volunteer your time and get involved."

The shelter also accepts monetary donations, as well as supplies such as pet toys, food, cat litter, leashes, towels, and cleaning supplies.
