Mountain View Cemetery
Mountain View Cemetery is owned and operated by Reno Lodge #14 I.O.O.F. of Reno, Nevada. Instituted in 1871, at the spot of 4th Street and Keystone Avenue, the Cemetery is governed by a board of Trustees appointed by the Lodge.
In 1897, the Trustees purchased the land where the Cemetery is presently located and changed the name to Mountain View Cemetery. The Cemetery now stretches from Stoker Avenue to the housing tract to the west, and from 4th Street to the Native American Cemetery off 7th Street.
Mountain View Cemetery is a non-profit, non-sectarian, fraternal cemetery open for individuals of all faiths. The Cemetery currently consists of about 160 acres, with over 50 acres presently developed.
In the years since its opening, Mountain View Cemetery has inured, entombed and interred well over 40,000 individuals making Mountain View the guardian of those that helped establish the Truckee Meadows. It has since become a legacy in Reno history.
Mountain View Cemetery is proud of its reputation and its record of confidence and trust by the community of which it serves.
