Crystal comes to KOLO 8 News Now from East Los Angeles. She graduated from Long Beach State and started her career in journalism as an intern at KTLA-TV.
She also explored entertainment news while working at TMZ.
KTLA offered her a job, and she worked her way up to assignment editor. She moved to eastern Washington (Yakima/tri-cities) in 2016 and worked at KNDU/KNDO as an MMJ and as a fill-in anchor.
In 2018, Crystal decided to move back to LA to be with family and help care for her grandparents while freelance hosting/reporting and working part-time at a non-profit.
She took a monthlong trip across Europe in 2021 before joining KOLO on Valentine’s Day 2022 where she fell in love with the Biggest Little City.
Crystal’s favorite part of being a journalist is getting out into the community. She says every day is a new adventure and she gets to meet people from different walks of life and learn about them. “The fact that as a journalist people are vulnerable with me, entrust me to tell their story, it is something I do not take lightly. So every story, I try to give it the best effort and respect it deserves…and I will do that here too.”
Crystal is the oldest of four and says family is everything to her. She loves exploring, whether it’s a new city or a new restaurant or local business.

Ben Dosseff moved to Incline Village 8 years ago, soon after he noticed the very serious litter issue in Lake Tahoe. For the last 7 years he has been picking up trash around the lake and nature trails. The Northern Nevada Medical Center (NNMC) is celebrating 40 years of service in Northern Nevada. Originally named the Sparks Family Hospital, back when it opened back in 1983, the hospital had 157 patient beds, today it offers 124 private patient rooms.

May 26th is World Hunger Day, and in efforts to help combat food insecurity in our local community. Nationwide, millions are living with food insecurity. Students from the Tahoe Expedition Academy, kicked off an egg drive on May 15th with proceeds going to the Sierra Community House.

Hundreds of people gathered at Hug High School for the 2023 Pinocchio’s Moms on the Run 5k run on May 14th. The non-profit, helping Northern Nevada locals helping locals since 1999, supports people diagnosed with breast or gynecological cancer with everyday living expenses to help offset medical expenses and stress.

On Thursday, May 18th 2023, local non-profit, Clean Up The Lake, hosted their first-ever environmental summit. Organizers say, the ‘Lake Tahoe Litter Summit’ will be an annual event aimed at bringing community leaders together to discuss pollution issues facing the basin, particularly the issue of litter.
