Carson High School students create a business magazine raising $73k
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Carson High School’s chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and marketing students launched a new student-produced business magazine, “Entrepreneurs in Action.”
Since late January, the FBLA and business and marketing students have applied hands-on learning in a variety of areas, learning business and life skills, all while highlighting entrepreneurs in Carson City.
The magazine was a collaboration between the students; Mr. Cody Downing, Carson High business and marketing teacher and FBLA co-advisor; Ms. Angila Golik, Carson High social studies teacher and FBLA co-advisor; Ms. Jenny Treece, ad director for Carson Now , and Mr. Jon Rogers, a retired entrepreneur.
Money raised from the magazine project will fund scholarships, leadership programs, and student-led business initiatives, empowering Carson City’s next generation of entrepreneurial talent. In total, $73,020 was raised
Hard copies of the magazine are available now and free at various businesses and community organizations throughout Carson City. To view the entire magazine digitally, please visit the Carson High website or https://link.carsoncityschools.com/Entrepreneurs-In-Action.
