RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - UPDATE: The Reno Fire Department says discarded smoking materials led to a fire at the Rosewood Park Apartments in southeast Reno on Saturday. The flames reportedly started on the porch of an apartment at the Mira Loma Drive complex at 12:53 p.m. They then spread to the attic of the home.
At least two units are uninhabitable, the Reno Fire Department said. As many as eight units could be left unusable.
After the first units arrived, it was upgraded to a second-alarm fire. In all, nine rigs and 34 firefighters helped put out the flames.
No one was injured. The American Red Cross is aware of the situation and is ready to help out.
