Pinwheels for Prevention returns to Carson City
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Pinwheels are returning to Carson City Friday, marking the beginning of National Child Abuse Awareness Month. Advocates to End Domestic Violence and Prevent Child Abuse Nevada are hosting the planting ceremony this year.
Every pinwheel symbolizes a child’s right to a safe, healthy, and happy life. The Pinwheel planting event is happening on the Nevada State Legislature Lawn at 10 a.m. There will be a panel of speakers and performances by local kid’s choirs.
Lyon County will also be planting pinwheels Friday at 10 a.m. It’s happening in Dayton at Our Park, in Fernley at In Town Park, in Silver Springs at Silver Stage Elementary School, and in Yerington at Rocket Park.
