Note-Ables return from Global Music Awards in NYC

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Local band, the Note-Ables, is back home from an awards ceremony in New York City.

KOLO 8 News Now was there as they returned to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport Tuesday night.

The Global Music Awards show showcases performers with disabilities, ranging from developmental to physical.

The awards show was Saturday, March 19 at the Symphony Space. The Note-Ables performed their rendition of ‘Smooth’ by Santana and Rob Thomas.

“We would like to thank the Danny Awards for giving a platform and to show that people with disabilities deserve a stage as well,” said Note-Ables band member Michael Lahnala.

The award show was originally scheduled for 2021 but was postponed until this last weekend because of the pandemic.

The Note-Ables is a group of professional musicians that offer music therapy services for people of all abilities.
