Reno River Festival returns this weekend
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Reno River Festival returns this weekend after getting cancelled last year because of the pandemic. The annual event is typically held during Mother’s Day weekend.
Organizer Jess Horning said it will be a bit different this year. There won’t be a kayaking competition because the water levels are too low and there’s a one time $10 entry fee for adults.
The event includes vendors including craft beer, seltzer, shopping, tours, rides, food and live music. Horning said, “What we are excited about is that we have musical acts back to work, we have vendors back to work, city employees back to work.”
He continued, “And your $10 going in, actually benefits all of them and allows us to get this event going.”
This will be the second time in the event’s 17 year history kayakers won’t participate due to low water levels.
The event is free for kids and is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. & Sunday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
