INDIANAPOLIS (KOLO) - Krysta Palmer is heading to the Summer Olympics in Japan.

On Thursday, the Nevada and Douglas High School graduate - alongside partner Alison Gibson - punched their tickets to Tokyo by winning the three-meter springboard synchronized event at the U.S. Diving Trials from Indianapolis. Their final tally of 899 points bested second place by nearly 30.

Palmer, 28, can still qualify for a second event at the her first Games. She leads the three-meter springboard individual event, which has its finals on Saturday. A top-two finish gets her a second spot on Team USA.
