RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Washoe County Board of Trustees will look at the district’s Strategic Plan & ELA Social Studies Supplemental Curriculum Tuesday afternoon.

Trustees will look to revise and update the Strategic Plan. It includes a timeline with goals and objectives for academic recovery, accelerated learning, and college career readiness for the 21-22 & 22-23 school years.

In Tuesday’s meeting Superintendent Dr. Kristen McNeill will recommend a task force for the ELA Social Studies Supplemental Curriculum. According to McNeill it will be made up of students, parents, families, and employees.

“If the Board provides direction, they go to that direction and accept the recommendation, this task force will be in charge with looking at our Nevada academic content standards and exploring professional learning for our educators.”

Critics of the ELA Social Studies Supplemental Curriculum said certain topics should be taught at home and not in a school setting.
