RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Our KOLO Cares Pillar Partner could really use your expertise. Dress for Success is outgrowing its space in Downtown Reno and will be moving in less than a month. It hasn’t found a new commercial space just yet.

As we kick off 2021, the sky is truly the limit for this small but mighty organization that is making sure no woman is left behind. From resume writing, mock interviews and suiting women for their next big career move, a physical move is on the horizon.

“We require additional room for all the clothing that comes in for our storage, for the women that come in, for our boutique and this 2021 is just another year of growth for us,” Founder and CEO Patti Weiske explains.

Since she founded the Northern Nevada chapter in 2017, it has grown from her personal home garage to the Arlington Towers. The space was graciously donated rent-free by Reno Engineering.

“It’s very humbling to think that you’ve gone from your driveway to here,” Weiske exclaims.

The positive side of moving is that all of the organization’s programming and mentoring are taking place virtually for everyone’s safety right now. There are some critical requirements that must be met.

The new space must be accessible to public transportation for clients without their own vehicle as Weiske details, “We’re really looking for 2,500 square feet and we need that. A lot of people think of us as just having the clothing, but we also need conference room area, we need a career center area.”

Maybe you have experience in commercial real estate or know of a vacant property to recommend? What’s certain is that the tenant won’t cause any trouble because it’s so busy helping others.

“Someone believed in our mission enough to donate over three years’ worth of rent and utilities for us to stay afloat. That is incredible and that shows the heart of this community, everything that has been donated,” Weiske adds.

The hope is that the amazing Truckee Meadows will come through once again for these women, also incoming clients and the bright future that lies ahead.

Dress for Success must be out of Arlington Towers by February 1st. You can email the non-profit at: or call 775-846-9814.
