CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) -Roper’s Heating and Air Conditioning is taking donations of brand-new box fans for Carson City seniors during the annual 2020 KOLOCares Fan Drive.
Owner Dirk Roper said fans can be picked up by a Roper’s service technician who is making a service call or dropped off at the Roper office at 2062 S. Edmonds Drive in Carson City or at the Carson City Senior Center between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. They can call be dropped off at 911 Beverly Drive by appointment made through 775-883-0703. Or they can be dropped off at Carson City Christensen Automotive location at 1860 E. William St.
Seniors age 60 or older are eligible to get a new fan. Priority goes to seniors without air conditioning and those who have not previously participated in the program. More than 100 fans were donated to Carson City seniors during last year’s drive.
“It is our job every day to make people comfortable,” Roper said in a statement. “Many seniors are unable to afford a fan, let alone air conditioning. This is our way of making our seniors safe and comfortable in the summer heat.”
