RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - With both California and Nevada both under mandatory mask mandates, you can follow the order while also helping protect our area’s first responders.

Swabtek, a field testing company, is partnering with the National Sheriffs’ Association, UPS, Motorola Solutions and Under Armour to participate in the “buy on give one” program.

Up to 200,000 masks will be given out nationwide for free. All you have to do is shop online and buy these masks in packs of 20, 100 or 250. That same amount will then be donated to the sheriff’s office of your choice.

“We kind of figured out how we could help our first responders and it took some time, but we figured out how to get the best price point for them and get them the supplies they really need to stay safe out in the field,” Sarah Struble with Swabtek said.

Swabtek has an office located in Carson City.

The program does not have an expiration date right now, being that community transmission of COVID-19 continues to rise.
