New self-esteem program coming to the Women & Children’s Center of the Sierra
The nonprofit is based in South Reno on Neil Road. Next month, organizers are launching a new program aimed at helping ladies improve their self-esteem.
This is unique because the majority of the classes offered are academic based, like computer literacy and studying for the GED along with learning English as a second language.
All women are welcome to this safe space and new class..as it can be a rough battle in the fight to better their circumstances.
“Transportation barriers, daycare barriers, jobs that aren't paying her enough barriers, losing her housing, not being able to live on food stamps because they continue to get cut. All of these kinds of things are barriers for women,” Executive Director Pam Russell explains.
The new program doesn't have an official name just yet but the class will be volunteer driven, involving exercise and small group meetings.
This is set to debut Wednesday February the 19th and will last from 4-15 to 5-15 pm. To learn more or sign up, you can call 775-825-7395, you can also click
