Amazon purchases can help Advocates to End Domestic Violence
The Advocates to End Domestic Violence in Carson City has submitted plans to build a resource center near its thrift store on Gordon Street. It'll be a 6,500 square foot facility with counseling and training rooms, a playground and indoor area for children and more. This will serve as a safe space for survivors of physical or sexual abuse, a crisis that our area sees far too often.
“A lot of it's that we're transients, a lot of it's the economy, a lot of it is people that are at odds that live here. But until we find a solution to change human nature, we are going to have a need for crisis call lines, and shelters and emergency shelters and for people to step up and help when they don't have any other options,” Executive Director Lisa Lee explains.
As an Amazon customer, you can log in through Amazon Smile and select Advocates to End Domestic Violence as your agency of choice. Half a percent of every purchase you make, goes right to the organization to help fund supplies and other needs for the new resource center. It costs you nothing since you're already shopping.
