Is This The One We Have Been Waiting For?
We have been waiting and waiting...and finally, we might get some big snow.

We have been very warm in the last several weeks, but this weekend things are going to change.
First its going to be windy. Friday highs will be in the mid fifties but with a strong cold front approaching we could see winds gusting up to 45mph on the valley floor and near 100mph on the ridge-tops.
Then the cold air moves in. We could struggle to get to 30° on Sunday and Monday. Saturday through Sunday we could see some light snowfall, but the main event will be the cold. I only expect a dusting on the valley floor with some road controls in the upper elevations. But the passes should still be...well passable.
Monday morning through Tuesday night a second storm moves down the coast. This storm should draw a lot of moisture through California and into Western Nevada. This storm should stick around for a couple days. And with cold air already in place the snow that falls will be relatively dry. That equals...POWDER!
This storm is still almost a week out, so right now it is a little tough to see just how long it will stick around. It could be gone as early as Tuesday afternoon or as late as Wednesday afternoon. Either way it looks like we could get at least a couple days of wet weather.
Tell me what you think! Are you excited to see the snow, or would you rather it stay warm and dry?
