RENO, Nev. – The National Girls and Women in Sports Day activities will be conducted before the Nevada women's basketball team (5-17, 1-6 WAC) takes on Fresno State (19-4, 7-0) at Lawlor Events Center Saturday, February 11.

The Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada and Charter Communications have partnered with Nevada Athletics to host the annual event for kids middle school and under. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and the cost is $2. The day includes sports clinics conducted by Nevada student-athletes and interactive booths hosted by community organizations. It also includes entrance into the Nevada vs. Fresno State game that will tip-off at 2 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to bring a non-professional camera and stop by the Charter station for a chance to meet Scooby Doo, Dora the Explorer, and Strawberry Shortcake. The station will also include an MLB inflatable strike zone.

Although the title of the day focuses on girls and women in sports, their male counterparts are encouraged to attend, as there will be male student-athletes from Nevada participating.

For those who do not attend the Girls and Women in Sports Day activities, tickets to the game will be $2.

Lasts year's event was one of the highest attended games for the Nevada women, as almost 1,500 fans watched the Pack battle the Bulldogs of Fresno State.
