Nevada Swim Team Records 3 Top 20 Finishes
LONG BEACH, Calif. LONG BEACH, Calif. - After not competing in over a month the University of Nevada swimming and diving team had three top 20 swims on the first day of the Toshiba Classic .

LONG BEACH, Calif. - After not competing in over a month the University of Nevada swimming and diving team had three top 20 swims on the first day of the Toshiba Classic being hosted by UC San Diego at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach, Calif. The meet features 26 teams from throughout the country with many of teams being among the elite of collegiate swimming.
Junior Jeanette Tour (Stockholm, Sweden), senior Margaret Doolittle (Sacramento, Calif.), junior Marichi Gandionco (Quezon City, Philippines) and freshman Calley Parham (Lubbock, Texas) earned the Pack’s best finish of the day as they teamed to place ninth in the 400-yard medley relay completing the distance in 3:51.15.
Doolittle had the top individual performance for the Pack on day one finishing 16th in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:06.41. She also swam 24.07 in the 50-yard freestyle to place 40th.
In the 500-yard freestyle senior Miranda Moore (Spokane, Wash.) was Nevada’s top swimmer finishing 44th with a time of 5:07.52.
In the first event of the day Doolittle, Parham, freshman Heidi Ong (Quezon City, Philippines) and senior Danielle Maddock (Bismarck, N.D.) combined to finish 17th in the 200-yard freestyle relay posting a time of 1:38.41.
Seven events will be contested on day two of the three day event on Saturday.
