Updated: 12/18/2013 - Valley inversions will persist through Wednesday morning, with patchy haze, air quality concerns, and a red burn code (burn ban). By afternoon, as a system approaches from the north, wind will pick up and improve air quality and boost temperatures. Snow is a possibility early to mid-morning on Thursday.

This should bring some temporary improvement in air quality and a slight warm-up. Under high pressure, inversions rebuild over the weekend and will persist through early next week.
