Wildfire Erupts in LA Near I-405 Amid High Heat

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A wildfire has erupted in Los Angeles in the hills above the Sepulveda Pass on the east side of Interstate 405, where blistering heat and windy conditions are fanning flames.

Fire spokesman Cecil Manresa says the fire is burning through two acres of brush, near the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Getty Center Drive.

KCAL9 television reports that the nearby art museum, the Getty Center, has voluntarily closed as a precaution.

Helicopter footage shows that the fire is approaching several large homes.
