RENO, NV - The heat will persist through the week ahead, although an increase in moisture and afternoon thunderstorms will bring highs down several degrees by Friday. With light steering wind, and increasing moisture, thunderstorms that develop will produce heavy rainfall, and the potential for localized flooding will increase through midweek. By the weekend, the pattern will shift to more of a westerly flow, ushering in drier air and lower temperatures. -Jeff
