RED FLAG WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THURSDAY UNTIL 8 AM FRIDAY FOR THE WESTERN NEVADA SIERRA FRONT...
As a trough dips into the Pacific Northwest, the atmospheric flow will become increasingly westerly-southwesterly. While this will take thunderstorms out of the forecast through the weekend and cool the temperatures around 10 degrees, breezy to windy afternoons will result. With the dry conditions, that means extreme fire weather danger for the next few days for the area. Red Flag Warnings are up for the Sierra Front through 9 PM, and area-wide from 7 AM Thursday through 8 AM Friday. This pattern will persist through early next week. -Jeff
