RENO, NV - A strong high-pressure ridge will build over the region by the end of the weekend, bringing the hottest temperatures of the year so far to western Nevada. Three days with triple-digit highs are a strong possibility for Reno to start the work week. A few thunderstorms may pop in the Sierra in the heat Tuesday afternoon. By Wednesday, a trough in the Pacific Northwest will bring a southwesterly flow and breezy, cooler weather. -Jeff
