Partial Lunar Eclipse Early Wednesday

WESTERN UNITED STATES -- There's a rare sight in the sky early Wednesday morning, but you'll have to be very attentive to see it.

A penumbral lunar eclipse will happen early Wednesday morning between 4:15am and 6:15am Reno time.

This type of eclipse happens when the moon passes through the outer edge of the earth's shadow, also known as the penumbra.

During a penumbral eclipse, the moon doesn't black out. It just gets a little bit darker. You have to pay close attention to see it.
