LAS VEGAS (AP) - The flood-damaged main highway from Las Vegas to Mount Charleston is open again for all traffic.

The Nevada Department of Transportation said Tuesday that repairs continue on a stretch of State Route 157 washed out by torrential runoff following intense thunderstorms on Sunday.

Transportation officials opened the road Monday only to residents of mountain communities in Kyle Canyon.

Now, officials say everyone is allowed through the area.

Department official Damon Hodge says motorists should expect delays in the construction zone west of U.S. 95.

Work is expected to continue at least through Thursday.

Hodge says people can still reach Mount Charleston and Lee Canyon on State Route 156 to avoid the construction zone.
